Set in the events of SAW VI.
A silent admission that he was aware of the suffering he was causing, that it was required and that he still detested it. Not once did his hand falter, but beneath that clinical precision, his mind screamed. The paradox of it—of holding someone so tenderly while hurting them to save them—was something he had not known he was capable of up until this moment. It was violence rendered gentle. Tenderness through blood. And somehow, for some damned reason, it felt more personal than anything else they had ever done.

Strahm snarled at the man comparatively like a rabid dog, and it was only a matter of time until he would lunge onward and tear him to shreds. Mark, in turn, sheerly blinked—otherwise remaining unmoving, except that he drew back. He brook no intimidation. If it can be considered as such. Perhaps he got it all wrong about the agent. Perhaps he was all bark but would not bite. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
At that, Peter guffawed while bending himself closer to loom just a few inches over the detective. “No? You dragged me out of the precinct to this Italian restaurant."—wined and dined me, he almost proceeded, minus the wine, but managed to bite his tongue by the skin of his teeth. A date would be the appropriate term; however, disregard it as such. Notwithstanding the fact that he reveled in the dinner and the brief moment they connected.
