Summary
“Hey,” Vi says, running a thumb soothingly along Caitlyn’s pulse, and though Caitlyn doesn’t break her focus, the tension she holds in her jaw relaxes. “I happen to have firsthand experience on how good you are with your hands, Cupcake.” There’s a husk across her tone that she doesn’t really mean to let out, but— well, that’s a lie. That’s exactly what she’s going for. “You can handle a little haircut.”
Caitlyn shudders as the words meet the air. Vi tries not to smirk in satisfaction.
“You can’t say such things while I’m holding a pair of shears so close to your neck,” Caitlyn says lowly, voice dripping down like molasses. “It’s dangerous.” Her chiding whispers dance across Vi’s cheekbone, the blunt side of the blade making contact with Vi’s skin, and— oh. Vi’s definitely the one shuddering now.
Vi chuckles to hide the shiver curling up her spine. “I really affect you that much?”
Caitlyn hums, dragging her fingers through Vi’s damp bangs to measure their length. “Coy isn’t a good look on you.”

Summary
“Guess the little one takes after you after all,” Benzo says.
Caitlyn gives her a questioning look and Vi cringes. She’s mentioning it before but in super vague terms. It happened fast, everyone was shocked, she was quiet and still. She was born waiting for Caitlyn. But she can’t remember if she’s actually said it happened in the corner of the bar. She jerks her head over to the corner where the juke box is standing and Caitlyn goes several shades paler. But then the most vicious cramp yet takes them and she falls into Vi’s arms with a whimper that cuts Vi to her core. Benzo begins to give out orders but all Vi cares to do is hold Caitlyn and try to breathe for both of them. It releases but Caitlyn stays doubled over, a new weight sitting low in both of their hips.
“If she doesn’t come out with freckles—“ Caitlyn starts and Vi laughs.
“She will,” she promises, “if she’s got this much of me in her and you want freckles, she’s gonna have freckles.”
