Summary
"I don't know what I'd do without you," Damon says. "And all your funny little ideas." They stand face-to-face for a moment in comfortable silence. He thinks again of that moment, Damon on his knees saying Let me do this, and the pieces fall into place.
GRAHAM drops to his knees.
DAMON
Wait—GRAHAM doesn't hear. He begins to unbutton DAMON'S cargo pants. DAMON seems to give up on speaking and lets him, stroking at his hair affectionately.
GRAHAM, yanking the pants down impatiently
I want to—
He freezes and looks up at DAMON.DAMON, shrugging apologetically
Sorry.GRAHAM

Graham says, "My dream last night. Promise not to laugh?"
"I won't."
"I, erm. I was onstage. Naked."
"Ah," Damia says, nodding as she places the needle. "Hate those ones."
"Right. But I had, y'know, my guitar. And I just wished I could hide behind it but it. Wasn't enough. And I couldn't leave, and put clothes on, I had to stay and play." She looks down awkwardly, sinking to the carpet to sit with her legs criss-crossed. "And I just felt so hopeless and trapped. Because, I. I couldn't get away from myself. And- and hundreds and hundreds of people out there staring at me." Her fingers trace patterns on the rug. "And then I looked over, and you were there."
Damia sinks to the floor next to Graham and feels her stomach lurch in anticipation. There's just this crawling dread that she did something awful in the dream, that she was in the crowd of people all staring. That she laughed, or said something cruel. Or that, in some abstract way, the dream was prophetic.
Which leaves her unprepared for what Graham says next. "And you were naked, too. And you didn't have anything, no guitar or anything to hide behind. And I think- it seemed like you were scared, too. But not ashamed like I was."Series

She notices Damia's gaze drifting and zeroes in, suspicions confirmed when the other woman snaps her eyes away, blushing. “You looking at my tits?”
“Not- not exactly.”
“It's not polite to stare,” Lee says, and it's taking a lot of effort not to start clapping gleefully. People just don't understand, she thinks, that she can't help being the way she is. How can it be wrong to push somebody's buttons when all of the buttons are flashing red? Action, reaction. It just pleases her. “Would've thought posh birds like you had better manners than that.”
“I wasn't-”
Lee ignores her and lifts up her shirt. “Look, memorize ‘em while you can, right? I'm feeling generous.”
“Generous?” she says incredulously, but she's openly staring.Series

They break apart. G has a dazed, hungry expression on her face, all her sharp edges sanded down and stripped away. “You’re so fucking hot like this,” Frankie says. Once she starts talking, she isn’t able to stop. She’s being dragged forward by her own sincerity. “Like- it’s like it’s all for me. When you’re up on stage. They can look, but they don’t ever see you. Not like this.” The words feel like they’re twisting themselves out of her. She’s definitely still a little bit drunk, and it’s pretty clear that G is, too.

She smiles down at him, taking his face in her hands, and he turns to mouth at the cool, smooth leather of her gloves. She traces his lips with her fingertip, just barely entering his mouth, before she rises from the bed and turns away from him. From here, he has a perfect view of the black lines of her stockings against the back of her legs. If he shifted a little bit lower, he could probably look up her skirt, but he’s not going to do that yet. He can be patient, if he tries.
