Summary
The phone rang three times before a response came, “...Gri?"
The voice was groggy, and clearly muffled with exhaustion. Grian let out a shaky exhale. “Sorry, Scar.”
He could hear shuffling on the other end of the line. “Hm? F’what?”
“Waking you up?” Grian replied, trying (and failing) to keep the quiver out of his voice. “I-I just needed a distraction, didn’t realize I called you.”
There was a beat of silence, and a scream from the kitchen.
“...That’s fine, Grian. You can always talk to me.” Scar sounded far more awake all of a sudden.
Grian swallowed the lump in his throat and whispered, “You hear them?”
{OR: Grian is having a rough night. Scar just wants him to be okay.}

Summary
“Do it. Please?"
Scar stares at Grian like he’s asked him hold the holy grail, to carry the scriptures of the Western Heavens across continents, to protect the most precious thing imaginable. “Are you sure? I mean— you never let anyone—"
Grian sighs. There’s no other choice, really. Whether or not Scar helps him preen his wings, it’s a bad situation. Vulnerable if he does, vulnerable if he doesn’t.
But at the end of the day, he would rather be vulnerable with Scar.
Scar gets a bunch of sand in Grian's wings, what happens next will shock you.

Summary
“Scar, I can’t-” He pushed the words through his teeth, raising one of his shaky hands.
Scar didn’t say anything for a beat. Before he finally spoke, hesitating. “You… You’re letting me preen your wings?”
“Please.”
Or
It's a preening fic.
That's it.

Summary
Scar walks over to The Swaggon, pushing the covers up and revealing the various watches displayed both neatly and haphazardly in little containers and shelves. They glimmer and shine, reflecting the sunlight and each other—a fantastical treasure trove.
“Why don't you have a good time? On the house!” Scar winks, “family discount.”
Jimmy gulps. Right. Good times.
He was informed of this. Back when Grian first told them of the mysterious man he met on the side of the beach. The man who also happens to possess these magical powers that can somehow transport you into one of your happy memories—a good time.
Grian has recounted the experience so vividly, explaining how, yes, he really did get to see his memories again like it originally was, and no, Scar is not a hypnosis artist. He asked.
Even though Grian had explained it to him over and over again, Jimmy was still skeptical.
It just sounded too crazy.

Summary
“Scar.”
“Yes?”
“They're all watches.”
Indeed, inside The Swaggon are lines and lines of different kinds of watches.
There are aviators, luxury, smart, and even pocket ones. All of every color and design, from expensive to cheap, from antique to modern.
They're organized in a way that has no rhyme or reason, arranged like people in a crowd, with their own stories and characters that mixed beautifully in ungrouped chaos. A cheap children's watch with a popular cartoon character printed crudely on its plastic strap sits snugly next to a luxury one in stainless steel, both of them having the same value in the haphazard tidiness Scar has created.
The oddest thing, however, is the fact that none of these clocks are ticking.
