Choi Yeonjun tries his best to identify The Poet, the serial killer who has been terrorising South Korea over the past few months. Along the way, he struggles to keep up with his relationship with his husband, Choi Beomgyu, as their third wedding anniversary is coming up.

A sad smile forms on Beomgyu’s lips. “It’s fine,” he tries to wave it off but the sadness is still evident in his eyes. “It’s not your fault. It wasn’t like you were the one who murdered people, anyways.”
“But still–”
“We’re still on for Tuesday night, right?” Beomgyu interrupts him in a small voice as he stuffs the plate inside the fridge and closes the door. Yeonjun feels his own heart ache as his husband peers at him with a hopeful look on his face.
Tuesday. Their anniversary. They have a reservation at one of the most expensive restaurants in town which sells the best steak. They have been planning this before the whole fiasco with The Poet happens.

“Dude,” Beomgyu pinched the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger, back still turned to Yeonjun, “I don’t have time for this, okay? I said I was sorry—”
“Yeah, you did,” Yeonjun agreed, “to me. But not to Betty, who is the real victim here.”
Beomgyu exhaled heavily through his nose and frowned, “I’m not apologising to your fucking car.”
“Why not? She deserves it.”
“She’s a car.”
Yeonjun pointed at him with a big grin, “Ah! You said ‘she’!”
Beomgyu had finally turned around then, just so he could spit directly to Yeonjun’s face, “You are so fucking annoying.”
“No, I’m Yeonjun,” he smiled, reaching out a hand, “nice to meet you.”

Summary
Breaking rules comes with consequences, a lesson that Choi Yeonjun is learning. He’d shattered his own self-imposed one in favor of a one-night stand and while it had resulted in the best sex he’d ever had, it also left him with an unintended result in the form of a telling pink plus sign.
Realizing that the Universe wasn’t gonna let him forget the hook-up he’d bailed on the morning after, Yeonjun decides to make the best of the situation and continue on with this new direction his life has taken. Only, the Universe isn’t done messing with him, determined to make sure he can’t walk away as easily as he had from the motel room that morning, bringing Choi Soobin back into his life. And this time, Soobin is determined to make sure Yeonjun doesn’t slip away, especially when he finds out the Omega is carrying his pup.
