Long after the candles have burned down to their ends and flickered out one by one, a peaceful silence descends on the apartment. Quincy is stretched out on the sofa, with Kuya in a pillow nest on the floor beside him. Olivine is asleep in the recliner. Morvay, Eiden, Blade, and Rin stayed awake for a while talking, but now they’re out cold together in a tangle of limbs.
Aster claimed Edmond’s bed and is curled around Dante. Yakumo and Garu pulled out the sleeping bags and camped out on the floor in Edmond’s room as well. Which only leaves Edmond and Rei to retire to the other bed.

In the months leading up to the holidays, Edmond and Rei’s relationship grows beyond being roommates.

He has another option, an open invitation he has yet to accept. Swallowing anxiety at his own boldness, he slips from his room and pads softly down the hallway.
There’s no sound from within the room where he stops. Edmond hesitates, resting his palm against the door while he debates knocking. If the person inside is sleeping, it would be selfish to disturb what little rest he allows himself. Edmond takes a few steadying breaths, curling his fingers.
Before he can make up his mind what to do, the door opens, and he nearly stumbles directly into Rei’s arms.

Perfectly manicured and painted fingers found the heated skin of Yakumo’s cheek, caressing it ever so gently and taking note of its alluring softness. The gesture was met with a nervous twitch at first until Yakumo relaxed into the touch, even slightly leaning into it like a pet, happy and eager to receive attention.
“You’re a good boy, aren’t you?”
A choked little noise left Yakumo’s throat and Kuya couldn’t help but smirk at the sound. An amusing little serpent indeed. Perhaps this was the kind of teasing that would actually work on him? How intriguing.
In which Kuya tricks Yakumo into becoming his (temporary) servant and Yakumo is too eager to please to say no. Perhaps Kuya will teach him a thing or two along the way?
