Summary
He recognizes the hot metal he’s sitting on from a dent in the passenger’s side.
Ford had made it when Stan had jokingly threatened to roll the top down when it was pouring rain. It had been a joke until the button got stuck and the top actually did try and lift off. Ford had to hold onto it the entire ride home or it would have flown off in the storm. They had both been soaked to the bone and shivering by the time they made it back to the pawn shop.
The top of the Stanmobile isn’t the only thing that night that had six fingered marks on it.

Insanely creative and deeply intriguing.
Every twist and turn this fic makes, every piece of foreshadowing that clicks into place, feels satisfying. The title of “Mystery” is truly earned here and it keeps me begging for more. Even things I should already know earns it’s reveal and makes the main draw of the whole thing even more intriguing. It took me a second to be hooked because it feels like it starts so out of left field, but even that uncanniness/unease begs to be questioned and ultimately drew me in more.
This doesn’t even go into Stan’s voice of the entire fic, especially during the dream sections. The spiral and thought process of his mind felt grounded, even as he walked through memories and symbolic dreams. Hes steady and being able to grasp his struggles really spoke to me. His interactions with people felt real in the context of the world he lives in. His history, his daydreams, it all blended into itself seamlessly giving Stan a real breath. He feels living on the page.
Honestly Blanket this is your best work yet and I genuinely can’t wait for more.
