Summary
Mel had never considered herself a dominant person before. She was self-assured, knew how to push and when to do so, could be plenty assertive under the right circumstances—she's her sister’s caregiver for fucksake, she figured out how to advocate for herself as well somewhere along the line—but dominant wasn’t a word she’d use to describe herself. That didn’t necessarily mean she didn’t want to indulge in the fantasy of it every once in awhile, especially in the bedroom.
Enter Frank Langdon, her new-ish boyfriend (new-ish because, despite what Santos might say, eight months is still relatively new), who she couldn’t help but want to peg.
It wasn’t necessarily a shocking development—she’d heard of it before, seen it done a couple times while scrolling through porn during her college days where everyone but her seemed to be getting some action; it had always seemed appealing, but not like something she’d actively want to pursue.
Frank made her want to pursue it.

Summary
Mel King was a creature of habit.
There was a specific sort of choreography to her life beyond the chaos of the Emergency Department. A carefully controlled routine, a color-coded calendar, a rigid set of rituals that kept her grounded enough to keep showing up day after day, to keep on doing the work that was required of her to save lives.
Everything was going fine for Mel. Her personal life was predictable, unexciting, and perfectly fulfilling, thank you very much.
Enter Frank Langdon, agent of chaos.

Summary
“Hey, are you free after work?” he asks, and Mel hears the absolute silence that drops down over them, all the movement on either side of them going still.
“Yes, I am,” Mel answers eagerly. Cassie abruptly begins shuffling through her locker louder than before, and Mel feels one of her eyebrows twitch, tries not to let it show on her face. “Do you think you could fix the air conditioning today?” Frank nods, rewards her with a megawatt grin. She can feel them staring at each other an amount of time that could be considered inappropriate; she can’t think of a good reason to look away.
“Wow, King,” Santos says, breaking the silence, and Mel watches Frank glance at Santos behind her, over her shoulder. “Asking Langdon to fix your pipes for you? Didn’t think you had it in you.”
“Santos,” Frank warns, and Mel watches a muscle jump in his jaw.
“He’s not fixing my pipes.” Mel tilts her head, turning to face Santos. “He’s fixing my air conditioning. It’s been broken all week.” Santos’s lips part, her eyebrows coming together, and then a slow, terrible smile spreads across her face.
(Mel's air conditioner breaks. Frank doesn’t know a lot about them but finds a way to help)

Summary
“I don’t know.” Mel frowned. “Sometimes it feels like there’s a Frank and there’s a Langdon and they are somehow two different people. I know it doesn’t make much sense.” She sighed.
“Just talk to him. I'm sure he'll enjoy being a bit more…smug…if you ask him to.” Samira said, sincerely.
“She's right.” Trinity shrugged. “You're basically Willy Wonka giving him the golden ticket.” She added.
(Or, Mel King wants her boyfriend to be a little less Frank and a bit more Langdon in bed)
