The droning of synth flooded the streets, the bass like a pulse reverberating through the night, creeping up every artery of the city. I stalked in a shroud of darkness, a dark veil I was wearing for our union–or reunion. Desolate and marred from Armand’s betrayal I trailed his voice, Lestat’s acerbic tone as he sang, some yards away in a stadium. With his primeval power, I suspected he could sense me, heart beating as hastily as it was, but his voice did not waver.
