Summary
Gasket’s flophouse is right on the edge of where it gets really filthy, but the outer doors lock and the floors only flood a few centimeters when storms blow in off the Acid Wastes. The atmospheric handler's always broken, so it's ten degrees above comfortable most of the wet season, but there are worse things than paying a few extra creds for a double ration of coolant.
Gasket’s only rules are no trashing the place and no one brings customers back.
Things are going okay for Drift. Then Whirl shows up, shiny and polished and looking like a million creds amid all the detritus of Dead End, and reminds Drift exactly how substandard he really is.

Cyclonus stiffened, turning his helm away sharply. “I’m fine.”
Ooooo, that was definitely code for not fine. “C’mon, cough it up, or I’ll sic Tailgate on you.”
That threat worked wonders. Cyclonus only hesitated for a brief moment before exventing heavily and turning towards him, helm tilted and voice low. “If you must know, it is difficult and uncomfortable to process this much sensory data without onlining my combat protocols.”
Whirl blinked. Once, twice, and then said slowly, “Let’s get out of here.”Series
