Summary

He shakes his thoughts from his head and follows Feng Xin into his panel. “You’re up late,” he says.
“...Well, so are you,” Feng Xin says, turning a corner. “Having trouble sleeping again?”
Mu Qing stiffens. “...Again?”
“You were never that good at hiding signs of insomnia,” Feng Xin says, like it’s the easiest thing in the world. As if Mu Qing wouldn’t have staked his life on the fact that Feng Xin and Xie Lian knew nothing at all about him and how he felt. As if it didn’t mean anything—and, he realizes, an uncomfortable feeling growling in his gut, that he wants it to mean something, but it couldn’t have, since they had noticed, and never said anything.

Summary
The William before him lacks that usual air of self-confidence he typically exudes. His crimson eyes are contemplative, but they're missing that whimsical shine Sherlock’s so enamoured with. Still, there’s something special about them being locked onto Sherlock’s own, as if waiting for something to blow them wide open.
“I never regret anything, Mr. Holmes.” William says, soft and steady.
William stands before him, perfectly still, his gaze never once leaving Sherlock’s face. So, before William changes his mind, Sherlock makes up his and kisses him.
(William stays a while longer that night before the fall; Sherlock tries to make it worth his while.)
