Damian, meanwhile, had one arm around Jon’s waist, balancing him, and the other carding through his hair. Clark could hear him whispering reassurances (some in Arabic), and Jon’s heartbeat slowed considerably as he listened to them. Suddenly, it was clear that the look on Damian’s face before hadn’t been annoyance, it had been concern.
As Clark watched this interaction, he was hit with the crushing realization that this definitely wasn’t the first time this had happened. How many times had his son entrusted his emotions to Damian Wayne?

There’s a million things he wants to say to Damian- a promise that he’ll come back, that he won’t leave Damian here, that that’s not his intention. In the end, there’s not enough words and there’s not enough time, but Bats are notorious for leaps of faith-
“Do you trust me?” Tim breathes out.
His brother closes his eyes. “Go.”

Or, Damian and Tim are kidnapped. With Damian down for the count with a concussion and Tim free from his constraints, Tim does the only thing he can do - leave Damian behind and promise he'll return.

Summary
The worst day of the week just got even worser(“is that even a word?”) for Tim when he and Damian are kidnapped on their drive home. Of course it had to be the day that he is stuck with the brat. He would rather be kidnapped with literally anyone else.
But through this harrowing experience Tim learns a thing or two about Damian and Damian just attempts not to kill anyone.

The man grinned. It was nothing like Grayon’s—or his father’s, had he ever grinned in the cowl. It was malicious. “No, but you will.”
He pulled something from underneath his suit, obscured by the cape until he had a hand on Damian’s shoulder, pinning him to the wall. Damian’s eyes widened when he recognized the red loop of fabric for what it was: a collar.
