Summary
“Sleep is a brief return to how the world was, and the body remembers it well. The spirit withdraws–,” the circle in her hands had slowly lowered, stopping in line with her chest, “–and the body succumbs to what its nature used to be.” The fingers clasped, palms smothering the space between. “In sleep, you return to the earth, and your spirit is hidden deep within. Thus the Ku’uli passes, finding nothing.”
