"What are you?” Damian whispered, almost to himself.
He took a deep breath.
Apparently he hadn’t rescued a kitten, nor a little girl, but a mix of both.When Damian finds an abandoned kitten freezing and starving in the middle of January, he can’t help himself: he takes her home.
He’s eighteen, he’s Robin, he’s highly trained.
He’s also lonely — and of course he knows what’s happening is normal. All kids, all birds, eventually leave the nest; he is just growing up, and the rest of his family is simply growing old, or apart.
It doesn’t mean he’s not lonely.
Until the kitten he takes home turns out to be something else entirely, and Damian finds himself caring more than he ever meant to.-> Featuring a slightly depressed Damian Wayne who has to choose his future, a stray kitten that is actually a young girl/shapeshifter, and a protective Batfamily understanding very little.

Summary
Having a "lost and found" soulmate was annoying to Damian. He never knew what to do with the 27 of the same pink color pencils she somehow kept losing or when the next needle would prick him. But after spending years and years with her as a soulmate, he somehow grew to accept her as she was.
So when Damian found two mysterious boxes one night, he didn't care too much about them.
Never once had he thought that it would be magical artifacts.
He also never once thought it would be the last thing she lost before she died.
