Summary
Picture a world where Jack O’Neill retired for good after his trip through the stargate. Now picture a world where Jack and Sam Carter never met. She started her duties at Cheyenne Mountain but not with O’Neill and was doing fantastically. He instead retired to his cabin in Minnesota, where he promptly checked out from society. But then in a twist of fate, or perhaps intervention from unnamed persons, she shows up at the cabin next door to him, one he owns and wants to rent out. Were they two people that were meant to meet? This is the story about how things that never happened can happen because fate is silly.

Summary
Trauma has shaped the lives of both Officer Sam Carter and Sergeant Jack O’Neill. They had their separate lives, both at the same police department, but never meeting. But when Jack transfers to her precinct, their lives are thrust together. It was a love that shouldn’t happen, one that neither saw happening. Oh and one more thing, Sam is a mother. That fact alone floors Jack, making him long for the times he was a father. But this little blonde human and her lovely and intelligent mother are finding a way into his heart, and he into theirs. But the trauma that brought them together threatens to pull them apart, both fighting for their lives and that of the baby.
