It’s been six grueling months since they decided to both work as Medical Directors in different countries 3,459 miles apart. Seeing each other when then can, as much as they can…but making it work. This has been their relationship a week in New York a week in London. They both hate it but they are doing what they have to in order to be together.
My season 5 wish-list but I/we got none of it. So, I'm considering it a S5 re-write.

Max did not need a love interest in S5. We know Freema left but still she could have been the love of his life and them still engaged without showing her. He could talk have talked about her and referred to her.
This is my take on S5- E10. She said, "take me home." No ma'am that will not happen here. In my mind this is why Helen has been away -- most likely not but it works in my world.
