    Summary

Alex had been sober for three years, four months, and eleven days. He had survived clubs, touring, bad relationships, worse friends, and the particular insanity of playing guitar beside his older brother for most of his adult life.

Then he watched a vampire kill a man, and for the first time in years, he understood why people prayed for oblivion.

Arun placed another folded chair against the wall.

Roy and Alexandria, after the story has ended. A short drabble set just before the end of the film, with Roy keeping vigil by Alexandria's bedside. Mostly sweetness and fluff.

    Summary

The first letter isn’t particularly long, but Roy spends hours reading it anyway. It’s addressed to him, words painstakingly neat, reading ‘Roy in the wheelchair’ with the hospital’s address underneath. There’s no return address or name on the envelope itself, but Roy can guess who it’s from. Only one person would write him a letter.

They pass under a lamp glaring thousands of lumens in a tangible curtain. Bucky stares at him for a couple steps before his eyes pucker into a squint. Gale meets his gaze steadily until he can't stand it anymore and takes a stab.

"You forgot my name," he guesses, and Bucky relaxes.

    "You got me."

    "It's Gale."

    Summary

Excerpt from the Hunter’s Field Manual, issued by the Ministry of Spiritual Protection and Preservation in the name of his holiness the Archmage:

“Alvae are among the most insidious and treacherous of all recorded entities. Deceptive in form, they mimic human shape and speech, but beneath the skin lies only hunger. Their abilities include infiltration of dreams, extraction of memory, and psychic infestation of the host mind. They are capable of prolonged masquerade, often assuming the likeness of loved ones to lure prey.
Weaknesses are few but decisive: alvae cannot withstand prolonged exposure to sanctified metals or the sigils of binding flame. Strike swiftly, without hesitation. To hesitate is to fall. Remember: trust no alva, for their very existence is a lie.”

John had passed his exams with flying colors. He knew the manual and protocols like the back of his hand. He knew there was nothing more dangerous than an alva.
And yet, the creature in front of him didn’t seem like it would pose a threat to him.
