Regina is hurt badly by Gold, and Emma takes care of her. Feelings develop.

Summary
I wanted to explore some of the moments between when Regina adopted Henry, and when he went off to find Emma in Boston. I am just looking at snippets of time (500 words each, and a chapter per year). Mostly happy moments. Some were referenced in the show and I expanded on them.
I love Regina as a mother. Henry really sucked in the beginning of the show, but their relationship was one of my favorites.

In all honesty, he has no idea where the question came from, why he’s asking it now without any preamble. But it’s out and he peels his eyes away from his ice cream to check Mayor Mills’ reaction. Which is wide-eyes and shellshock and hands tightening around the purse in her lap. And damn, if he isn’t curious now.

Henry grows suspicious of why he looks so much like Mayor Mills and why everyone keeps telling him that his father is a man who resembles him so little. While he investigates the true origins of his birth, Emma and Regina grow closer in the background over stolen hearts and vengeful sisters and Henry might get more in the end than he bargained for.
