Summary
Ilya ghosted Shane for months. Months of no contact and texts left unanswered. All Shane’s. Shane was suffering, sure, but he had mostly gotten over it. Until he decided to act on his brilliant plan to get the press off his back and his mind off Ilya. Get a girlfriend and prove there was nothing except lust between Shane and Ilya.
But instead of clearing his head, the club he went to did the opposite, reminding him of all the bad choices he made and all the regrets he thought he already forgot about. All because of that fucking text he accidentally sent to Rozanov in Vegas. (‘’We didn’t even kiss’’)
OR
“What are you even doing here?” Shane asked first, because he couldn’t bear the silence, and because he already felt his face getting hot.
“Same as you, Hollander, trying to get laid.” Rozanov answered simply, not taking his eyes off of Shane, even for a second.
An awful feeling he had absolutely no right to feel flooded his chest. He bit his lower lip to prevent him from not saying something he would regret, like: Why, why did you have to end it?

“Please. Please, please.”
He’s begging now. Begging Ilya to take him back. To forget everything that happened in Tampa. It would be hard, but he would do it. He would do anything to keep Ilya.
“I’ll do anything,” he tells him. “I’ll do anything you want, just please don’t… Please don’t do this. I mean it - I can pretend I don’t feel anything. Please, just… just take me back. Let me come back to you, I’ll be so good for you. Please. ”
Ilya doesn’t answer. He’s so quiet on the other end of the phone, that Shane has to check his screen if the call is still going. It is.
“Ilya?” he whispers.
“Shane,” Ilya whispers back. “Please hang up the phone.”- or, shane's accident never happens and ilya follows through with his promise to break things off with shane, only to regret it immediately, especially when shane calls him drunk and upset
