Summary
Dimitri gives him no mercy. He growls, pinning Felix to the floor. His metal gauntlets, chipped, jagged, sharp, search under his shirt and rake again against Felix’s open wounds. His knee on Felix’s back keeps him down as his other hand tugs Felix’s hair, hard. “Does it hurt?”
It’s so painful, Felix can’t even answer him - he doesn’t trust his voice not to morph into whine or whimper.
He feels Dimitri shift behind him, feels his weight bare down on him as he leans forward, his lips so close to the tips of his ear that Felix can feel the ghost of his teeth on the outer shell. “It does,” he answers for him.

“Worse than last time?” Jayce posits a guess.
“It’s, eh-” Viktor shrugs. Tilts his chin this way and that. A tsk. “Bearable. I’ve endured worse hangovers in college.” he was going for a laugh, but the punchline never truly lands. Instead, Jayce’s thumb rubs softly into the back of his palm, pressing like he wants to idle the muscle mass into something new. It’s such a small thing, whatever this is, and yet it steadies the flow of his blood; the relief of loosening a valve, flicking off a pressure switch. It’s the necessary cracking-open of his breast. Jayce squeezes. Viktor allows himself the luxury of a sigh. “You shouldn’t be here.” he mutters.
Jayce reflexively shakes his head. “I took the day off.”
“We both know that’s-”
“—I could take the week.” he insists, almost a threat, a flicker of that eternal stubbornness coursing through him.

Summary
Viktor isn’t dense. Despite his quiet disposition, he’s not particularly socially inept. He may be one leg down and one foot in the grave, but he’s still not blind either. He knows when eyes trail him and he knows when they’re filled with pity or disgust. But he knows when they’re filled with heat and want, too. He sees such looks directed between lovers and those who covet that which they can’t have, but every once in a while he notices a look or two like that shot in his direction. It’s flattering every time it happens but he always chooses to ignore them – it’s not like any of them can offer him what he really wants.
What starts off as Viktor reluctantly attending one of the Council's lavish parties, ends rather interestingly when Jayce spends the night over in Viktor's apartment.
