Summary
Dying, Iris decides, isn’t so bad—especially when it happens on a good day.
Reborn as a five-year-old Beastkin in a long-abandoned temple at the heart of a sleeping island, she wakes alone among seventy-two preserved souls and two centuries of dust. There are no guides, no instructions, and no one to ask for help—only a handful of skills, a strange system voice, and the quiet promise that survival is something you can build if you’re willing to do the work.
So she does.
One room at a time, Iris cleans, repairs, and relearns how to live—turning a forgotten temple into something functional again through stubborn practicality, trial and error, and a deeply ingrained refusal to do things halfway. She cooks (badly, then better), experiments with magic (carefully), and begins piecing together a world she can’t yet read but fully intends to understand.
The island beyond the walls is still dangerous. The people below are still asleep. And Iris is very, very small.
But she has time.
And she intends to use it.
