“Don’t worry about it. I had you working past your usual time frame anyway. You are free to go back to your room to sleep.” He says as he gracefully sweeps a hand in front of him, gesturing toward the exit.
Your gaze follows his movements as you look at the door. You fight back a grin as you decide to press your luck with him. You slump back against your chair dramatically, lounging on it like a Victorian widow who has come down with a case of consumption.
“Too tired…” You whine softly and sleepily.
He stares at you, dumbfounded at your reaction. He takes a moment to compose himself before replying.
“Too tired…to walk to your room and rest?” He asks slowly to ensure he heard you correctly.
You nod slowly and wearily. “too tired…can’t walk…won’t make it” You proclaim dramatically, resting your forehead against the back of your hand as if to prove a point.
