Alastor put on his friendliest smile as he turned to face Lucifer, both hands properly behind his back. He noticed his partner’s nervous movements and bit back a chuckle. Lucifer always seemed to be a bit on edge whenever Alastor requested they talk, and he could only assume it was from the man’s anxieties about him. The poor man was no doubt always expecting the worst, especially after his wife had left him and dumped Charlie on him without a word.
Thankfully the news that Alastor would be giving was far easier to swallow.
Maybe.
If not, that’s what the chloroform is for.
“I just wanted to let you know that I’ll be preparing a special meal for us tonight,” Alastor informed him. “Just us.”

Alastor decides that it's time to tell his partner a secret that he's been hiding from him.
Little does he know that his partner, Lucifer, has his own secret he's been keeping.

Summary
When Hell rises and Lucifer is captured, all he has left is to cling to one last deal with the most powerful sinner:

Now Lucifer and Alastor are bound together and must learn to coexist despite their rivalry in order to survive and win.
Or, Lucifer gives his power to Alastor and they both escape to Earth disguised as humans while Lucifer recovers.
