“You’ve got a cowboy hat here?” Fred asked after a moment of silence, making eye contact with George again.
George chuckled and nodded. “Yeah, it’s the Grand Prix in Austin, isn’t it?” he replied.
* * *
“There’s just one last thing missing,” George breathed quietly.
“What?” Fred looked at him.
“Every cowboy should know how to saddle a horse, right?” George replied, spreading his legs slightly and placing one hand on his thigh, tapping it gently.

Summary
Sebastian had listened to him casually talk about staying flexible one day during a press conference, about stretching, saying it helped with his back, needed it more as he got older. And he didn’t think much of it at first, just nodded his head and said something about how he should probably start stretching as well, mildly distracted by the reporter asking Charles a question beside him.
It was a few days later, when he walked into the Mercedes garage, that he was hit with the reality of Lewis’ words.

Summary
“Would you ever wanna be on it?” Lando asks against his better judgment. He doesn’t let just anyone on his stream. He has a feeling people would like the looks of Oscar.
“Maybe,” Oscar squeaks, taken by surprise. “Are there a lot of people watching?” he asks innocently.
Lando doesn’t want to boast how many viewers he gets per stream. “Let’s just say, if we ever go out together, sometimes I get stopped once or twice. Not all the time. Would you mind that?”
“I don’t care about that,” Oscar states simply. “Better you than me,” he mutters under his breath.
OR
The five times Lando almost discovers how his new roommate can afford their rent and the one time he puts the puzzle pieces together.
(Plus the one time he does something about it).

Summary
“You’re not being very sympathetic,” Lando replies. “My roommate is a serial killer!”
Charles says, unhelpfully, “five months ago you walked into his apartment with no identification, no luggage, and the request for him not to look your name up on the internet, and he let you live with him without even asking if you served in the war. And we are surprised he is a lunatic?”
Or: Oscar kills people. Lando is legally dead. Someone wants to restart the war.

Summary
George reckoned that the similarities between him and Max could be counted on one hand with fingers to spare.
They were both in Formula 1.
They both lived for the checkered flag and the taste of champagne on the podium, possessed by a gnawing, insatiable hunger to win—the kind that turned food tasteless on race days and made sleep impossible after a P2 finish.
They had both grown up with fathers who mistook their sons’ steering wheels for extensions of their own unfulfilled ambitions and drilled competition into them like pit crews changing tyres—fast, efficient, no room for error.
That was about it.
But when it came to differences, that list needed more than George’s fingers and toes, as it was much, much longer, and to top that list was the most important of facts.
George was a 3 time race winner.
Max was a 4 time world champion.
That was a major difference, and it was unavoidable.
