Max and George have a rhythm. A routine. Max drives, George walks, and the universe dies a little bit each time they do (because they’re just hot like that) and at the end of the day it’s just them curled up on their little couch eating custard as London reminds everyone how annoying traffic is.

George must have heard, because he said, “Is that Toto?”
“Yes.”
“Tell him I am not a logistics item.”
Max looked over his shoulder at Toto.
“George says he is not a logistics item.”
Toto smiled faintly. “Tell George I have never once thought he was a logistics item.”
George said through the phone, “He’s lying.”
Max repeated, “He says you are lying.”
Toto’s smile widened. “Tell him I miss him too.”
