Summary
Paul turns back, and his face is oddly drawn, pulled inwards like he’s fighting a sudden stomachache. “You and John didn’t— did you?”
“No,” is what George says. “But I thought about it, sometimes.”
Paul sags at the shoulders, a relief of sorts that’s not yet enough to stop him from digging. “I didn’t know you were interested.”
