Summary
She promised herself she would love Aang as deeply as her heart was capable. She would offer him all the devotion she had once yearned to give to another. But that other man had rejected her. He had handed her over to Aang. And now, she loathed the fact that only within his embrace did she finally feel happy.
This story was born from the gaps the feature film left behind: Zuko’s vanished lightning scar, the silence between him and Katara, and everything that might have happened before they reached that point.

Summary
"The first time Katara saw the grey, ashen snow was at the fateful attack that took her mother's life and spurred her hatred for the Fire Nation.
The Nation that took, and took, and kept on taking. What else would they take?
She doesn't know the answer, truly. For the third time in her life, she sees the snow again — the snow that predicts impending doom.
“Wonderful. Then, we want a marriage contract between Princess Katara—” Katara doesn't miss the way she says princess mockingly, “—And crown Prince Zuko.”
Her whole body freezes.
Did she hear that right?
Katara’s eyes widen and everything goes silent. Her heart thuds violently in her chest, blood rushing to her ears. She can't see, can't hear, can't think—
There was no way—
She couldn't, and wouldn't marry Zuko.
She surmises the snow really does bring impending doom, in one way or another. Maybe it's a sign of how her future marriage to Zuko will be — doomed."
— Or, the enemies to lovers arranged marriage canon divergent Zutara that everyone loves.
