    Summary

Ancalagon was the greatest of all the flying dragons, who took part in the final defense of the Angband during the War of Wrath at the end of the First Age. After a long and terrible battle in the air, Ancalagon was slain by Eärendil and his fall destroyed the mountains of Thangorodrim as he plummeted from the sky.

But that was where history erred- for while Ancalagon was indeed felled, it was not to death but from grievous wounds. For so many centuries passed that the land grew over the great black wyrm, centuries and then milleium until the world was no longer that of Arda. When Ancalagon finally awoke from his slumber, he found himself within a new land, a new world, a new beginning. One where Eru Ilúvatar was absent and Ainur and even dragons were unknown.

Confused yet intrigued, Ancalagon set forth in this strange new world. And in doing so chose to emulate that of his long dead king Morgoth whom inspired his own meddling of creations, and thus dragons and dragonblooded Valyrians came to be.

    Summary

Aerion finished his joust match as before: he killed the horse, injured Ser Humfrey’s leg, and got banned from the tournament. But he was too tired from his father’s lecture to visit the commoners’ markets, so the next day the tournament continued.

He sat in the highborn seats and watched the boring joust.

Now, it wasn’t so boring—when the wooden lance of some stupid inexperienced huge hedge knight came flying toward his father and uncle’s seats. Both were chatting with some lord and unaware until Aerion abruptly pushed them out of danger. The lance struck deep into the prince’s side. Blood was everywhere.

And that stupid knight? He now owes him a massive debt.

    Summary

"Ava," Grace turns to the radio, heart heavy. "I don't think we can bring your stars back."

There's a long silence, only interrupted by the crackling static of interstellar transmission.

"You said the stars where you are are cured?"

    "From the astrophage? Yeah. But-"

"Then we don't need to bring my stars back," Ava decides, her voice full of steely conviction. "We just need to bring my people to where the stars are."

    -

Or Ryland can't stand not knowing if the probes made it back and saved humanity, so he calls Earth, and someone picks up. Someone from the wrong Earth. And Simon is sent into deep space on a one-man mission to see the stars

    Summary

When Dunk finds a pretty stone whilst scavenging the blood-soaked fields of Redgrass, he isn’t expecting it to crack right open in his hands.

Nor is he expecting a dragon with two golden eyes to stare up at him.

Desperate, he does the only thing he can do - become a servant at the Red Keep just long enough to ditch the dragon, and hope no one sees him making a hasty exit.

But someone does, and Prince Baelor Targaryen has already proven himself to be a very, very patient man.

    Summary

A hedge knight strikes a prince of the blood before half the realm and expects death for it.

Prince Aerion Targaryen has other plans.

Ser Duncan of Flea Bottom is taken into the prince’s household, not as mercy, but as a controlled asset: too dangerous to release, too useful to kill. Aerion is cruel, brilliant, and marked by a rare Targaryen gift the Faith would call an abomination.

    A dragon's blessing.
