Summary
A seasoned adventurer, Caesar Zeppeli has long since gotten used to living a lonely life. Fleeting encounters, empty dreams, those were enough for him and the thought of recruiting another person to join his conquests had never crossed his mind. He worked alone, he always worked alone. Everything was a lot more predictable when the only two things were him and his thoughts.
That is, until he's forced to work with a man, who if he's being honest, really shouldn't be making him feel this way.
Alternatively, Joseph and Caesar have a quest to finish, but it might be each other that ends the both of them

When he glanced up again, a single cracked eye, seaglass green as always, was watching him in amusement. As if in an excuse, the blond grabbed for the half-eaten cup of gelato that sat in the other man’s lap, bringing a spoonful to his mouth and licking his lips as he focused his eyes back forward on driving.
He’d told Joseph that if he could manage to swipe the keys to one of Lisa Lisa’s convertibles, he’d show him his favorite spot. The conversation that had led to Caesar uncharacteristically goading Joseph into stealing from their respected instructor eluded him in his memory, but he couldn’t say he regretted it.
He just hoped Joseph liked it.

“Am I supposed to just wait around for you then?”
Ada can see it so clearly in that moment, every question he has ever thought of but never voiced aloud, all rushing to the surface at once, all screaming the one fact she was too blind—willfully or otherwise—to face: that these mortal attachments, these petty sentimentalities other people indulge in and she scoffs at, they were always meant to lead toward a particular destination. The strings bound both ways, and the carousel never did quite spin endlessly.
Would that she had the answer Leon wanted to hear.
