"Finally alone, safe, together, free, their daughters were a wonder to learn but the family still had a lot of work to do and Rin did not protest when Towa turned to her sister and suggested a quick travel to the village to see if they could help with the rebuild. Torn from the desire to help as well, a quick look at her husband’s eyes reassured her of the decision she was about to make, and Rin wished them a safe trip with the promise to see each other later, claiming to have other important matters to attend to.
They might both have realized what she meant – Setsuna definitely glared at her father – but parted with a tight hug to her and a wave to Sesshomaru, then hopped on Kirara, parents and daughters staring at each other until they were but a blur in the distance.
Jaken was still as dense as he’d always been, and Rin giggled at the hard kick in the head he received, hopping past him and inside the thick vegetation with her husband in tow.
Their first kiss after 14 years was way sweeter than she expected."
