Summary
Kintsukuroi (“golden repair”): the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold; embracing its scars and making it even more valuable than before.
Vanessa is finally free, and with that freedom comes the crushing guilt of everything she’d done.
But after an act of impulsiveness leads to her taking in the young boy who’d saved her and his animatronic companion, she finds herself having something worth living for again.(Sequel to my previous fic!)

“What do you mean?” Luis asked gently, rolling over to look at her.
“It’s just…” she trailed off, hugging her arms and looking down at Luis’s collar to avoid meeting his face. “I don’t know…why you…put up with me,” she said quietly. “All I ever do is cause more problems for you. You give and have given me so much…but I don’t provide you with anything in return. Doesn’t it get exhausting, having to listen to me cry all the time?”
Or, where Vanessa feels like she's an emotional burden, and Luis is there to remind her just how special she is. Fluff ensues. (And maybe some Gregory shenanigans too.)
