“Then I--” He stops himself. This was not what he bargained for. He wanted insight into Karga’s schemes, not a routine. Not promises. But the sentence is already halfway out of his mouth, and he can’t leave it unfinished. “I’ll comm you when I get off-planet.”
“You don’t--” you start. You must think better of whatever it was you were going to say, because after a moment you change course. “Okay.”
“Okay,” he repeats.
