Sudah menjadi pengetahuan umum jika Max Verstappen suka merawat para rookie. Kimi, Ollie, Gabi, Isack dan lainnya, Max akan menjadi sosok mentor untuk mereka semua dan memastikan mereka semua di rawat. Media menggambarkan hubungan ini sebagai insting Omega Max yang sedang merawat anak anjing. Tapi Max tidak begitu memikirkan hal tersebut, dulu ketika Max rookie dia tidak memiliki sosok mentor yang membuat Max merasa tersisihkan. Charles goes still. His eyes are twin flames in the dark.
“Oh,” he whispers. “Will you?”
And Max isn’t quick to frighten and does not ever hope to be, but he’s still dazed by the long-forgotten sensation of having someone see straight through him—and not even because of the blood that sweetens his cheeks as it dries.
Or, when a driver is injured, Max takes on their pain. He holds out for surprisingly long, all things considered.

“Tell me, Max,” The Alpha voice lowers, his accent thick as he leans in, chuckling when Max quickly puts both of his hands on his chest to stop the distance from shrinking—but only succeeding in trapping himself even further, now that his hands are caught in between two bodies. “Once the FIA finds out about your designation, what will remain of you? But I can help put all of it away.”
"Oh? Aren’t you being so generous,” Max sneers, “A deal with the devil? Yeah, no thanks.”
“I am no monster, Max, I won’t force you,” The Alpha loosens his grip, “The deal is for you. Whether you take it or not, it is your decision.”
"What’s the catch? What do you want in exchange?”
“Be my omega.”
Or, Max presents as an omega at the brink of losing everything, and Charles pretends to be a knight in shining armor, coming to his rescue, coaxing him to make a deal with the devil.

But people wouldn't let it rest: they kept pushing to find out whether Max was truly just human. Charles starts noticing more and more strange things, especially when he keeps seeing a striped cat that looks a little too familiar.
