“Get some rest, you’ll feel better in the morning.”
Sun. It felt like there was sun casting in from a nearby window and warming the skin on his body. A hand gently brushed stray hairs out of his face as he felt his head laying on someone’s lap. The fingers were soft, comforting, as if a single touch rippled away the moss-like stress and worries from the lake that was his consciousness.
He felt his eyes start to flicker open, lazily reaching his arm out to take the comforting hand in his own, hoping to bring that hands’ warmth closer to his heart as he curls it into his chest, fingers interlacing. Then he heard it again, that voice greeting him quietly as if to softly rouse him from sleep.
“Hi.”
No one was there.
