When their shuttle mysteriously malfunctions on a personal detour to a cybernetics conference, Geordi and Data find themselves stranded on a planet with a shuttle in a state of absolute disrepair. All too soon, this unfortunate incident carves a path into something much, much deeper...
TLDR;
A classic slowburn Daforge fic with a lot of emphasis on Data's family and Star Trek's mistreatment of Soong-Type androids.

Summary
Geordi and Data install a way to signal each other using their VISOR and positronic brain. When Geordi starts signaling Data more frequently, Data, with the help of his friends, tries to understand his own feelings for Geordi.

Beverly nodded. “He thinks about you a lot.” She said.
“I suppose he does.” Data conceded after considering it.
“Do you think about him a lot?” Beverly asked gently.
For the first time in this conversation, Data hesitated in answering. He didn’t know why there would be anything wrong with thinking about Geordi a lot. He was his best friend after all. But Beverly's expectant look gave him the distinct impression that his answer would be taken as an admission. But he trusted Beverly, so he answered.
“As Geordi is my friend, he is frequently in my thoughts. I suppose more frequently than most people I know.”
Beverly considered this for a moment. “Data,” she finally said, voice soft, “Have you ever considered that Geordi may be more than a friend to you?”

He totally lied to Shiro. He doesn’t want to be alone. His failures aren’t gone—they simply settled to the bottom of him like sediment. But now the sediment rises, polluting the waterways as it lingers within him, thick and irremovable.
How sure are the doctors that they removed that parasite from his body? What if a piece is still in there, clinging to life within Keith’s muscle, feeding off the blood that pumps through his veins, waiting to strike? He's desperate to open his arms back up himself. To peer at his veins, to pick through his tendons; to ensure not a trace of that monster remains.
