    Summary

It has been two decades since the defeat of the Radiance, yet the Knight have seemingly disappeared from the face of the world. Some say he had sacrificed his body to defeat the Radiance, others say he returned to the Void from where he came. He had left many alone, and he had touched the lives of many others, with one of them being the Grimmchild. Having grown into the new Grimm, he hears the call of the Nightmare Heart, beckoning him to move on. Yet his heart longed to stay in Hallownest, hoping to wait for the return of his valiant Knight, the one whom he had looked up to ever since he was raised by him during the short time he knew him. However, when hope felt fleeting, and the restlessness of his own Troupe growing bigger by the minute, he was forced to accept the fact that the Knight may never return. Though, as fate would have it, he might get his wish, just not in the way he hoped.

    Summary

Slate was getting ready for the new launch, prepping the rocket and getting everything in order while the Hatchling took their traditional campout under the stars. Of course, Slate always thought that just made the new astronauts jumpy, but what did the know? Not like they've seen every previous astronaut off and they always went a little stir crazy before launch. Although, it was odd really.

Did the Hatchling always stare like that?

    Summary

Slate frantically ran up the stairs towards the observatory, looking around.

“Mica?” Mica was also just as shaken.

“Slate? What was that?” They asked. Their face was frightened as they stared at them.

    “I don’t-”

But they cut themselves off as they heard something… almost like whispering at first. But it was getting louder, and Slate realized it was the sound of whooshing air.

But what was that bright, blue light in the sky?

And why was it getting hotter all of a sudden?

Slate suddenly gasped as a roar washed over them. They frantically looked up, seeing that the sky was too bright. Impossibly so. It lit up the entire night sky so much that they couldn't see the stars anymore.

    But then, it was gone.

Slate stared in confusion and terror at the sky for a few seconds, as if they were waiting for the strange light to return, before they tilted their head back down and looked around frantically.

    Or

The hatchling's launch day takes a turn no one could have expected

    Summary

Canna’s statements aren’t anything you didn’t already know. Clem had the Vessel meet hers in the Gloaming Galaxy weeks ago. You can see it through the main view screen off in the distance, the binary Blackrock suns burning just out of sight to the left.

Fluvia, the lead astronomer, had promised they were as stable as could be hoped for, that they should last at least another few years, as if that was a solace. As if there was a plan of action to survive once they burn out like all the other stars are starting to.

You’re broken from your cycle of self-pity by a ringing, discordant tone behind you. A distress signal?
