    Chip took a moment to take Gillion in, what was left of him, what he had painstakingly rebuilt of himself, what was all new. Gil seemed tired, but strangely at ease, there was a glow of joy to him, but he wasn’t entirely free of melancholy.

    And Chip understood, or at the very least he thought he did. He wasn’t so presumptuous to say he knew everything about Gillion, but, at this point? He probably knew Gil better than almost anyone else in the world did and he definitely knew Gil better than he knew anyone else.

    OR: Chip kisses Gil and has to deal with the consequences of that.
