Summary
So this is a piece for the Fade Discord calendar project. An Emmrich POV one-shot. This holiday is one I made up called Ancestors’ Day. It’s like a mix of Memorial Day in the US and Mother/Father’s Day combined together. Memorial Day is a day where veterans of wars are remembered for their sacrifice and graves are decorated. Often, it extends to families cleaning or visiting the graves of those in their family who have passed (veteran or not). Here, I foresee the holiday being a time of remembrance of ancestors both living and dead in the Necropolis.
Also, I continue to take creative license for my own world state. We know very little about so many things, especially Emmrich’s parents. I choose to embellish in an effort to create more meaningful, fleshed out characters. I hope you enjoy!

Summary
Emmrich Volkarin is Nevarra City's best ripper doc and his wife, Remy, is the most trusted merc in town. When one of Remy's jobs goes wrong, Emmrich's past catches up to him when Remy is kidnapped. He sets out on a heist with his companions to rescue her and take down Johanna Hezenkoss in the process.

This story is set after the events of the game where Rook does not romance Emmrich. There will be end-game spoilers, although they are not discussed.

A young woman in house that has more questions than answers. A strange and hidden creature lurks in the attic. A man, that should be fighting for Zaun as he once did, is now mingling with his sworn enemies and this close to buying a seat on the Council. A man, who is an enigma, raising a girl who isn't his and you finding him more and more intoxicating as you fall into his world of shady politics.
