Summary
Himejima, dripping, was in the process of lowering a child from his arms, long wet locks clinging to her back on top of a soaked, faded green kimono.
As soon as the young girl’s feet touched the ground, she promptly hid behind Gyomei with startled, sad eyes. She resembled a malnourished, abandoned puppy.
“It’s okay, Zenitsu,” Gyomei's soothing voice echoed. “They're your family now, there’s nothing to be afraid of."
Himejima welcomes a new orphan to the temple, one with anxious, golden eyes. One that would be every ‘first’ and every ‘only’ of Kaigaku, even though he was tied to her every 'last'.

“Do you promise?” Zenitsu expectantly looked at him, hope lingering in her eyes. Tanjiro didn’t answer. Instead he got up and passed her a hand. She stared at him for a while, and then his hand, before breaking into a big grin.
Taking his hand, she slowly got up to her feet and paused as her stare lingered. Against the moonlight, his face shone, his gentle smile looked softer and she realized something. He was looking at her. He wasn’t letting go of her hand and for once she felt loved.
“I promise.”
Or, 5 times Tanjirou helped Zenitsu off the ground and one time Zenitsu did the same for him.
(Zenitsu is a girl in this one because i saw a really cute gender bend fan art of him and i can't stop thinking about it.)
