Drift groans and slumps back in the sofa, "I'm doomed man Shelby's gonna think I'm a floozy."
Some of the secret passageways in the academy open and close at set times each day—this is the aftermath of what would happen if Drift and AJ were on the wrong side of the door for a day. Drift does NOT want to talk about what happened in there.

In all her years, she's never met someone with a face as expressive as his. Even now after all this time, she still hasn't known someone so easy to read. It was almost comedic the way his every thought and emotion would be written on his face—so she'd laughed, a fond hearty chuckle at the wrinkle between his brows, "The flowers man, who are they for?"
