Summary
After the successful demonstration of the Hexgates prototype at the Progress Day a few months ago, it was only a matter of time before the Piltover’s almighty council commanded the start of construction of the full-scale gates for their city and other regions of Runeterra.
The first to partake in the initiative were Noxians, who did not want any other nation to get ahead of them in acquiring this technology.
The engineers and sponsors of the Piltover’s Gates had been working on the first stage of construction of the tower, as well as on the testing of the safe «launch and stop» teleportation beam system for several weeks under the guidance of Jayce and Viktor. That’s when they received an invitation to visit the Noxian lands for the first expedition to meet with the local engineers and conduct on-site experiments.or
Jayce and Viktor rediscover the value of partnership when a new phase of hextech development forces them to part ways for a short while. But is it really possible to separate two sides of the same coin? After all, the ingenuity of scientists knows no bounds, and the desire to work with one another cannot be stopped by circumstances, obstacles or distance.

Summary
Viktor watches it all, and even though he knows most of it is a game, a play into appearances and people’s egos, a grand show of smoke and mirrors, it’s still an arrow straight to his heart to witness just how much Viktor is holding Jayce back by the mere act of standing next to him. His presence corrupts his partner’s image like mold in the corner of a picture-perfect portrait, and people can’t look past it, can’t ignore it. They see Jayce, and on the edge of his greatness, they see Viktor, hanging back and trying to slip under the radar, but he’s still there, a reminder that decay touches even the most beautiful things.
