   Summary

   At the end of his life, Darren successfully prevents him and Steve from being pawns in Desmond Tiny's twisted game and passes on the torch to some other unwilling victims to take the two brothers' places.
   But what if the person that Destiny sets his eyes on is someone a lot closer to home than Darren ever thought of?

   A year after Darren Shan and Steve Leonard visit the Cirque du Freak, Annie Shan is dared by one of her friends to sneak out in the night with him to investigate the old theatre when she encounters a monster of the night with an unnaturally purple hue to it's skin who ends up changing her life forever.
