“Do you have anything to smoke?” Violet asks immediately, eyes locked on mine like she’s already decided not to lower them down my body.

“No,” I admit. “Left it all back at Basgiath.”
She curses in a series of words I’ve never heard put together before, and it would almost be amusing if her face weren’t so flushed, and if she were wearing more than just a short night dress right outside my bedroom. Her hair is all mussed and loose around her shoulders, and another throb of pleasure has me determinedly locking my body into place so I won’t do something stupid, like try to kiss her.

Sgaeyl is having none of it. “You’re ceaselessly distracted by the sight of her, and yet you say you have no need to mate. I, also, worry over your battle performance.”
“My performance is just fine,” I mentally grit back.
Her voice picks up a wry edge. “Perhaps you can begin the mating ritual by telling that to the girl.”
My palm slams down onto the table with a violent rattle of dishes, and instantly every conversation ceases, and every eye turns towards me.
Mother****er.

**IRON FLAME SPOILER**
This scene happens after the events of the battle at Basgiath
Sneak Peak:
“We can’t go on like this.”
Violet looks up with shock on her face. Does she really think I wouldn’t find a way to deal with this? Despite what she thinks of herself, I don’t think anyone could deny this woman anything if she was determined to get it. It just might not look like she imagines. She almost looks relieved, but she’s too tense for it to reach her muscles.
“No, Violet. No that. I promised I would never give you up, right? That I have you? No matter what?” She looks confused. I’m not being clear. I have to be as brave as her and say it. “You have to be touched, Violet.” Somehow she blushes through her already red race. “If you can’t focus on the revolution, we’re all dead. I won’t risk you by touching you myself no matter how much I want you, and Gods, Violet, I want you. But I can’t risk you being untouched either.” I look her in the eyes but she isn’t catching on. I pace my room, not sure what to say next.

Summary
Hi friends, thank you for all of the love and support that you guys have shown to this fanfic, it truly has been so uplifting and downright special. This Fanfiction has been the reason I started writing in general and certainly a catalyst for my love of it. From the beginning this was for me and I promised myself I would do it for as long as I was proud of what I was putting out there and continued to love doing it no matter how it was received.
All of this to say, I won’t be continuing this fanfic at the present. I won’t say never, but as of now I have no intentions of continuing.
Again thanks for all the love and kindness, it’s truly helped me grow and gain some confidence in an area that often feels very scary for me.
A Xaden POV Fanfiction.
I have taken liberties with certain off page dialogue but otherwise have tried to remain true to the book’s scenes.
I wanted to focus on Sgaeyl and Xaden’s relationship as well as Tairn’s dynamic with the two of them, Get a deeper insight on Xaden’s conflicting feelings for Violet, and just get to occupy the mind of a very powerful, snarky, angsty shadow daddy.
