Summary
Carla Connor is stubborn and self-sacrificial to a fault. She refuses to let any of her loved ones get tested. After Aidan, it’s a gift she could never accept, a debt she could never repay. So, she insists on waiting for a match from the donor register, thank you very much.
Back home from the hospital, she’s adjusting to life with daily dialysis, doing her best to be there for Betsy, who’s grieving Mason, and to be a partner to Lisa despite the toll her condition is taking on her. But no matter how hard she tries, kidney failure is wearing her down, physically and mentally.

Summary
So I think that the current storyline in emmerdale involving Charity and Dr Todd is very impactful and a story that needs to told. I want to recreate this story between Carla and Becky.
I will not be going into detail of the assault, this will purely be based on the aftermath effects on Carla's mental health, police reporting, the effect on her loved ones and public reaction.
That being said due to the nature of the story please be cautious when reading.
As a survivor, I find it very empoering to tell stories like this and taking into accoutn public opinion of same sex abuse.
For the practicalities of his story - LIsa and Becky are divorced and Carla and Lisa are married.

Lisa looked at her, with trepidation. Carla could tell that Lisa was unsure about how to approach this. She could tell Lisa had something else to say, but the words seem to have gotten stuck somewhere between we’re done and I’m sorry.
“Join us?” This time it was Betsy who spoke. Her tone was softer but less hesitant. Like she knew she was trying to maneuver a scared animal. Carla looked between the two of them. Suddenly, she was over it. Over the hospital, over the smell of disinfectant, and over the past twenty-four hours. Three weeks if she was being honest. So she just nodded and turned around, expecting them to follow her. They always did.

Post-Corriedale. A slight introspective look at the Connor-Swains after the catastrophic car crash. Expect some character musings, some slight jealousy, and loads of pining. Also, they do not get back together in three weeks in this fic. I felt like there needed to be more time in between to grieve and heal.
