Summary
Handsome, wealthy Napoleon Solo has it all. Married to his high-school sweetheart, blessed with good friends, he has a job that he loves and a mentor who is teaching him everything he needs to know.
But his relationship with his father is on rocky ground; there is tension between him and his wife over his career choice; and guilt about a vanished sister clings to him. And in some ways of which even he is not conscious, he is uncertain of his deepest feelings.
Illya Kuryakin is a young defector from the Soviet Union. Barely escaping with his life, he has found a foster-father whose love and support have begun to help him heal from his traumatic past. But he is torn between a career in the sciences and the desire to take up the work which caused him so much pain at home.
Ripped from his native Ukraine to a new life in the U.S., he finds it hard to trust new people or new situations, preferring to shelter himself rather than socialize outside of work. And he has a terrifying secret that even he does not know.
When they meet, Napoleon and Illya must learn to know and trust each other, meet their personal challenges, and develop into true partners at work and in love.
