Summary
His parents weren’t supposed to be back for another four days, they didn’t come home early unless something happened. The last time they’d come home early was when the "earthquakes" happened, but they didn’t come home because they were worried. No, they came home because since he had been missing he was considered a suspect of murder. His parents had been furious, demanding to know why he was careless enough to let the family name be tarnished by his actions. Almost an exact replica of what they’d said the time before when they came home early because Steve had gotten suspended for getting in a fist fight with Billy Hargrove during basketball practice.
This time though there wasn’t a fight with Billy Hargrove. There wasn’t an "earthquake". There wasn’t anything other than the fact that for the past nine months he had been dating Eddie Munson.Steve knows they know. He doesn’t know how but they know.

Steve's parents find out that he's dating Eddie. He doesn't know how they found out but he can't take it anymore. He doesn't care what they think or what they do. Whatever happens, he can handle it.

Summary
Eddie holds him close, arms wrapped right around him. Steve thinks maybe it’s the safest he’s felt in a long time. His eyes burn again. “Did you want to talk about it?” Eddie asks carefully. Thumbing away the stray tears.
Steve shrugs. “Not really much to say. They found out i’m not straight. They hit me like usual. I left.”
“Like usual?” Eddie presses. Steve knows he could shake his head right now and Eddie would drop it. But he trusts Eddie. And he doesn’t feel like being alone anymore. God he really doesn’t want to be alone anymore.
He isn’t alone. He knows this. He knows.
Eddie has taken every part of Steve he’s ever been offered and held it close to his chest like it was something precious. Like every part of Steve was perfect and he wanted to keep every single one under his pillow. So Steve shrugs. “Yeah. Started when I was like, ten.”
Eddies eyes are wide and a bit watery. “Ten?”

All the adrenaline Steve had gotten from the fight with his parents is gone and now he's exhausted. He doesn't want to be alone anymore. He talks to Eddie about it, then Robin, then the party.He's not alone anymore.
