Summary
He remembers being sick of tour, sick of concerts, sick of sex. He remembers longing for the normalcy of cases. He remembers feeling useless, so useless, lost without any sense of purpose, and he remembers missing court.
He also remembers Daryan, haunting him like he is now, telling him that he doesn’t owe anything to Kristoph, that he’s better off leaving his old life behind. Come back to bed, he would always say to Klavier, gripping his arm. You belong with me.
Possessive, Klavier would have called it once with all the giddiness of a schoolgirl. Now, Klavier has another word for it: desperate.

“Don’t touch those!” The sharp emotion in his voice was startling, but Apollo couldn’t quite place what it was. Klavier sounded scared, almost, but why would he be scared? “How many of those have you eaten?!”
“I don’t know, like… five?” Ema shrugged. “What does it matter? You’ve never complained about me eating your snacks before.”
“Because you don’t know where those have come from, Fraulëin! Do you eat every piece of food you see lying around?!”
“But it wasn’t lying around! It was on your stupid speaker-desk-thing! There was literally a note from your secretary on it!”
“That’s not the point! Anyone could have written that note! For all you know, they could be–.... They could’ve been–....”
And then it hit him.
Klavier thought the chocolates were poisoned.
Following the conclusion of the Misham trial, Apollo and Klavier grow paranoid that Kristoph is trying to kill them. Or: on bonding through shared trauma.

Summary
"I was just there for the music. I’ve never gotten to see live music before.” Klavier wrapped his arms around himself, suddenly chill from the breeze.
“Hm,” Daryan hummed, tipping his head to the side as he examined Klavier. “Come with me. I’ll show you live music.”
Klavier squinted his eyes. “How do I know you’re not some crazy serial killer trying to lure me to my death?”
Daryan shrugged and took a step back, like he was going to leave. “Well, you don’t, but y’know, your own loss if you don’t wanna see live music. Just c’mon."Klavier and Daryan meet one night outside a bar, unaware that they've both just met someone who will change the trajectory of their lives. For now, they're just two young, new friends- although some less than platonic feelings bubble to the surface.
