Chapter Text

“Okay, this doesn’t make any fucking sense.” You dramatically dropped your pen on your chemistry textbook, crossing your arms, kicking your legs out under the table, and leaning back into the sofa behind you.
Most of your class would work on assignments in the dorm’s common room during the week. It made most assignments feel like it took less time, even if it sometimes took more, and it could be oddly comforting just working silently beside friends.
“Not fucking this again.” Bakugou scoffed from above you. He was sitting cross-legged on the couch with a magazine, trying to hide the fact he was reading a romance manga.
“No, this frustration is justified.” You tipped your head back to look up at the blond. “How can electrons both exist and not exist? Like when they do their little blip-out-of-reality-thingy and then just reappear where did they go? Why do we still use those fucking orbital models if they don’t really move like that?”
You faintly hear Kirishima ask what an electron was under his breath. The poor soul.
“You don’t need to know why to do the math, dumbass. Just get the work done so I can fucking leave.” You saw him turn a page without the magazine actually moving.
“It’s about understanding the situation, the context. More information is always better. It makes things easier to understand. So where do they go?”
“Just do the math, you dimwit.” He whacks you on the forehead with his “magazine.”
“That's a pretty thick magazine you got there, Kacchan.” It really is quite fun to tease him.
Bakugou scowls down at you muttering to himself as a pink tint slowly warms his cheeks at being caught.
———
Another custom your class had was Friday Movie nights. Everyone writes a movie that they want to watch on a bit of scrap paper before shuffling them around in a bowl and drawing one. It helps to avoid the hassle of spending an hour trying to get the group to agree on something. There was also an unspoken rule where if Mineta’s choice got picked it was a redo, considering he always chose movies that were borderline porn. Sure it could be funny to see how everyone reacted to it but if Aizawa or All Might walked in the whole class would be fucked.
While the class had this big overall tradition, you and Kirishima were tasked with getting Bakugou to actually show up every week. Normally, the two of you would order some spicy curry from one of his favorite places by school and put it in front of a fan by his room, luring him out with the smell. When the curry wasn’t an option you had to get a bit more creative. You had gotten pretty good at making your own spicy curry that no one else but Bakugou could eat or if you didn’t have enough time you’d pour a fuck ton of chili powder onto a bowl of popcorn for him. This time, however, you didn’t have anything spicy for him. Hell, you couldn’t even find a fucking pepper in the kitchen, so you and Kirishima had to be a little more tactical.
The plan was simple. It was almost 8:30, so Bakugou was definitely winding down to go to sleep.
“He’ll be tired and probably react slowly, we can use that against him.” You whispered to Kirishima as you ducked into your room. Digging through your closet, you continued. “I’ll get him to open the door and I’ll walk straight in so he’ll have to turn and have his back to the door to watch me.” Finally finding what you were looking for, you pulled a big, red, fluffy blanket from the depts of your closet and handed it to Kirishima.
“That’s when I burrito wrap him and we carry him to the common room.” Kirishima finished, and the two of you shared a devilish grin as you walked towards Bakugou’s room.
———
“Bakugouuuuuu!” You half yelled as you knocked. “Open the doooooor.”
Scuffling noises, grumbles, and seemingly annoyed muttering sounds filtered through the door along with gradually louder footsteps. Soon an annoyed face stared back at you from behind the cracked open door. “I don’t smell anything that would taste good so I’m not going to the stupid movie night.”
You shoved your way in, partially catching him off guard. “Ever the bloodhound.” You quickly slid past him, walking towards his insanely neat desk. You dragged your finger over the top of the table and it felt like the table had cleaned your hand.
Bakugou crossed his arms, back turned to the wide-open door. “Get out, asshole, I’m going to bed.” Spiky red hair slowly snuck up behind him, trying to be as quiet as physically possible for the mountain of a man. Bakugou exhaled sharply through his nose before beginning to turn to close his still-open door. Your plan was in danger.
You quickly closed the distance between the two of you, looping your hands behind his neck. “Aw, come on, Katsuki~” You did your damnedest to imitate how Mina flirted, trying to catch the blond off guard for long enough to capture him. “You’re not really going to spend the night alone are you?” You pressed in closer so you could try and wave Kirishima to keep going.
The tips of Bakugou’s ears started to turn pink. “What,” he cleared his throat, “the hell are you--”
Within seconds the blanket was wrapped around Bakugou, but obviously, you and Kirishima hadn’t quite been coordinated enough as he wrapped you up alongside Bakugou.
“Gotcha!” Kirishima bellowed victoriously.
Both your and Bakugou’s eyes widened to the size of dinner plates as you both demanded to be released.
“Oh hell no,” Kirishima squeezed the two of you and lifted you off the ground, making for the elevator. “If I let go now he’s gonna bolt.”

The elevator ride felt agonizingly long. On your way down, Kirishima had found a way to wrap you two so tightly that neither of you could move without letting go of either of you in the process. You were trapped, pressed against Bakugou, the both of you doing your best not to actually look at each other as your massive mutual himbo friend fucking hummed along with the elevator music behind Bakugou. Bakugou had never really been one for physical displays of affection, whether it be familial, platonic, or romantic. He liked his space. You on the other hand normally showed appreciation or emotion through body language and small, shared touches. You weren’t great at vocalizing your emotions, hell, neither of you were, but at least you had a way of showing it, and after the first year Bakugou learned to tolerate it and borderline find a tiny bit of comfort in it. The fucker would never express it, though, which isn’t surprising. In a moment of slight defeat and exhaustion from the day, you let your head fall forward into Bakugou’s shoulder with a sigh. The side of your face was slightly tickled by his unruly hair and served as a nice distraction from the shit storm that was about to happen when those elevator doors opened up to the common room.
As those silver-plated doors slid open, the sound of cheers and groans flooded into the now open space. Apparently, Mina’s choice of watching The Conjuring had won and you could hear Denki practically whimpering in the background. The poor guy was terrified of horror movies. Somehow, the three of you slipped in relatively unnoticed before Kirishima dumped you and Bakugou onto the couch, Bakugou’s back hitting the back of the sofa while your’s faced the TV, before wandering into the kitchen to microwave some popcorn.
You honestly couldn’t tell if the man was clueless or had a sadistic sense of humor as he disappeared from sight.
“Seems like your little plan backfired, genius.” Oh, god, you could practically hear the smirk in his voice.
“If you don’t shut up I will spit in your ear, I swear to god.” You grumbled into his shoulder.
Denki shouted “Kinky!” as he walked into the room, sitting in the armchair by the sofa with a massive bowl of popcorn in his arms.
You grounded and tried to maneuver your arms up above your head to wiggle out. You eventually grabbed the arm of the sofa and dragged yourself out of your quickly overheating blanket prison, making sure to slightly kick Bakugou in the stomach on your way out for shits and giggles.
Eventually, everyone’s comments run their course, whether it be making jabs at you, Bakugou, or the two of you. Soon enough, you were halfway through the movie, and half the class was already trying not to piss themselves out of fear. It wouldn’t be the best look for a pro-hero. After your escape from the blanket of awkwardness, you were sandwiched between Bakugou and Kirishima with Mina hugging one of your legs for comfort with a bowl of popcorn in your lap. You would occasionally mess with Mina, letting your nails slightly tickle against the back of her neck during scary or suspenseful moments only for you to get your thigh punched in retaliation. Kirishima had his knees tucked up against his chest, trying to make himself as small as possible as he took little handfuls of popcorn from the bowl in your lap. Bakugou, who had also been de-burrito-ed, still kept the blanket for himself and grabbed handfuls of popcorn every couple of minutes. He rarely got scared or startled whenever horror movies were on but sometimes he’d go slightly rigid for a second and for some reason you found it hilarious. He would be halfway to bringing a piece of popcorn to his mouth when suddenly a jumpscare popped up on screen and his hand would falter for just a split second. You hadn’t realized you were staring at him until he looked at you from the corner of his eye, his eyebrow raised in question. Your head snapped back to the TV screen so fast you were surprised you didn’t break your neck.

Notes:

The chapters won't normally be this short but I just wanted to give a small introduction to the story. I've got more written but for pacing's sake, this is the best place to end it for now.
