EPILOGUE

“Here she is boys, isn’t she a beauty?” cried Jin, gesturing to the brand-new yacht, whose elegant font showed her name to be “Spring Day”.

Everyone let out a collective “ooh” like you would before a firework display, except Yoongi who made a low humming noise. Jin had practically skipped the whole way to the docks and now the others could understand why.

“Well let’s not just stand here, climb aboard everyone!”

The younger ones rushed up, taking in the deck with its pool, sun loungers and hot tub. Then Jin unlocked the door to let them explore inside. Various shouts flooded the air: “Oh my god, there are pirate and sailor hats!”, “Ooh water beds!”, “I see the bar is well stocked.”

Amidst all the commotion, Jin hung back to snake an arm around Yoongi’s waist.

“Soooo, what do you think?”

“Hmm…it’s a bit flashy.”

“You know I don’t do subtle, darling.”

Yoongi smiled and their lips met, “No, you don’t do you.”

“The kids sure like it though.”

Yoongi contemplated their boyfriends running around, exploring and screeching with joy at each new discovery. Hobi had immediately donned a captain’s hat and was sparring with Tae, who was wearing a massive tricorner complete with an impressive ostrich feather, both had quickly found the foam swords. Jimin was rolling around on the waterbed and was pawing at Joon and Kookie to come join him and test it out.

“They certainly do.”

It’d been a few years since Jin had driven a boat, and it wasn’t a particularly pleasant memory - it’d been a smuggling operation gone awfully wrong - but it was like riding a bicycle really, nothing to it. He’d gone just far enough away from land for them to be completely alone, with nothing around but the vast sky, burning orange from the setting sun, and the shimmering ocean.

They’d all gathered around, their drink of preference in hand, to watch the sunset give way to an endless canopy of black velvet studded with a thousand glittering stars.

Namjoon stared upwards, open-mouthed,

“It’s just breath taking. I love stars. They’re so fascinating, so beautiful. The things they’ve seen, the fact that most of them are dead. It just reminds us how small we all are really and how we just don’t know what’s out there. Night time really is my favourite time,” gushed Namjoon, stumbling a little over his words.

“Joonie, if I could, I’d get you every star from that sky and make you a dress,” purred Tae, his voice only slightly slurred.

“Nuh-uh,” cried Jimin, launching himself in to Namjoon’s lap, “that’s such a stupid idea. It’d be too heavy.”

“Well if I could, I’d take you to visit the Moon,” whispered Jungkook, who’d moved behind Namjoon.

“Joon on the Moon” giggled Taehyung.

“Ok my lil’ tipsy babies,” cooed Hoseok, “I think it’s time we hit the hot tub.”

“Hot tub!” cried Jimin and Tae in unison.

“Go through to the first bedroom on the left, open the wardrobe and you’ll find some swimwear. They’re giftwrapped, but we’ve put a label on each one, so you’ll know whose is whose” smirked Jin.

“You’re evil,” breathed Hoseok once the others had scampered out of earshot.

“Coming from you, that’s a compliment darling,” Jin smiled, downing his glass of champagne coquettishly, “now let’s go get changed too.”

“…don’t want to come out, I can’t…too embarrassed,” came Joon’s mumble from behind the door.

“Joonie come on!”

“Joon, seriously, we’ve seen you naked and like in every position ever.”

“C’mon Joon, it can’t be worse than Jimin’s…or Jin’s…Hobi’s is definitely something too…”

Jin was wearing a cheetah print speedo and Hoseok a zebra one. Jimin had been spared any animal print but was wearing a full on thong in electric blue that was doing wonders for his ass. Taehyung had a neat little Gucci number with cut out strips on the sides, Kookie a barely-there pair in camo print and Yoongi was wearing…big black board shorts.

“This thing is so tiny guys, I swear, it would be illegal to wear in any public space.”

“JOON. WE’RE ON A PRIVATE YACHT. OUR PRIVATE YACHT. I PUT A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT IN TO PREPARING THIS, SO WOULD YOU COME OUT, PLEASE.”

“Ok…ok…”

Namjoon emerged to his lovers’ collective gasps, arms futilely crossed as if that would stop him from being so exposed somehow. He had a miniscule speedo in a lustrous shiny silver. It hung dangerously low on his narrow hips, clinging to his buttocks beautifully, showing off his endless legs and full thighs to perfection.

“G-guys,” he stuttered, unable to meet any of their identical, hungry gazes.

Hoseok and Jin lifted him up and frog-marched him to the hot tub, which they then gently placed him in to everyone’s claps and cheers.

Yoongi sidled up beside him, ever the smooth operator,

“I think you need more to drink, my love,” he grinned, handing Joon a glass of champagne, just like the day when all this began.

The memory obviously came back to Namjoon as he took a hefty swig. But he wasn’t the blushing, uptight thing he’d been back then. He’d grown. Yes, his cheeks were still a heavenly shade of pink, but he climbed in to Yoongi’s lap and kissed him, all tongue and blazing passion. Any hint of his previous shyness from a few moments ago gone.

This Namjoon, he took what he wanted more often.

“Jin…can I just say I love you…this is the best idea you’ve ever had,” garbled Hobi, huge pirate hat askew, an even huger grin plastered across his pretty face, the multiple rum-based cocktails he’d drank over the course of the evening were definitely starting to take effect.

They’d just finished playing a game of “Pool Boys and Daddies”, which basically consisted of Jin, Suga and Hobi in the hot tub smoking cigars and throwing things (flip flops, pool floaties, whatever was closest to hand really) that the boys had to pick up very, very slowly with their back to them, then return to them.

The three elders snuggled together and just watched contentedly as the youngers danced. Taehyung had told them mischievously to put on some Beyoncé and watch the demon that would possess Kook. Yoongi, slightly bemused, had queued up a “Beyoncé best mix” playlist on his phone that was connected to the waterproof (“WATER RESISTANT” Namjoon had insisted) portable speakers that Jin had provided and Tae’s words had proved true.

Now “Baby Boy” was blasting, and Kook was in his own world, his taut little booty bouncing in his camo speedos, powerful thighs flexing as he dipped and dropped. Meanwhilst, Joon was deliciously sandwiched between Jimin and Tae. He’d loosened up because of the booze and his long limbs were able to follow the two expert dancers’ movements more easily, grinding to the rhythm. Jimin was in front and Tae behind. Taehyung kept groping Joon’s front with his large hands and kissing his neck whilst Jimin alternated between riding his thigh and slut dropping against him. The droplets of water running down their glistening, nubile bodies under the coloured strobes (because of course Jin had had disco lighting installed) made them look ethereal.

“Hey guys,” whispered Hobi, unwrapping his arms from around Jin, “don’t you think Joon’s got more…” he mimed squeezing an invisible ass, then moved to honk phantom pecs.

“Yes,” hissed Yoongi, pulling Hoseok close to him, “we noticed. We think it’s the work-out program he’s doing with Kookie.” A dreamy grin floated across Hobi’s lips.

“Don’t you dare say anything! You know what he’s like, he definitely hasn’t noticed. He might stop doing it if he gets self conscious and-“

“BLESS YOU FOR DOING THE LORD’S WORK, KOOK!”

Jin proceeded to dunk Hoseok under the water.

Jungkook looked over, briefly snapped out of his trance, “Huh?”

“He was just praising your godly dancing skills Kookie!”

“’kay”, the youngest replied nonplussed and quickly resumed his twerking.

Namjoon wasn’t sure what awoke him so abruptly.

He blinked a few times as his surroundings slowly came in to view. He’d been spooning Taehyung who was in turn spooning Jimin, both were snoring gently. He carefully extracted himself, mindful not to wake them. Not far away on the other waterbed Jin was lying splayed on his back like a starfish, a feather boa wrapped around his neck with Yoongi and Hobi’s head on each of his ridiculously broad shoulders and Kookie clinging to one of his legs.

The room was littered with pool toys, discarded speedos, empty bottles and the various naval themed headgear. Namjoon shook his head fondly at the debauchery of it all and the sight they made.

The strips of sunlight streaming through the not fully closed curtains illuminated the beautiful, sleeping men around him and he was immediately reminded of another similar scene from over a year ago.

He got up gingerly, his head pounding as he fumbled around for a pair of sunglasses and something decent to wear, before opening the door quietly and heading to the deck.

The briny ocean breeze felt wonderful as he walked the perimeter of the boat, even if the bright light was not helping his headache in any way, shape or form. He winced and put the aviators he’d found on, proud that his hungover brain had had the foresight to grab them from the party debris on the floor.

Staring out over the endless sea he thought back to that first morning he’d awoken after being kidnapped, but he found that the memory brought no pain to him. It was a chapter of his life that he'd been able to close. He felt only gratitude and amazed at how far they’d all come and how much further he wanted them to all go together.

The languidly rolling waves calmed him. He marvelled once more at how unimaginably kind the universe had been to him and how he simply couldn’t wait for more days like this with the six incredible people he had the privilege to call his life-partners.

“Joonie, there you are,” came a deep voice, even more gravelly than usual. Sizeable hands wrapped themselves around him and the familiar, comforting smell of a sleepy Tae filled his nostrils.

“I was looking all over for you baby, Jin’s setting up breakfast. You know how he gets if any of us are late.”

They strolled back around to the main deck where Jin was laying out waffles, cream and various fruits on a pristine white table cover. His lovers were all sat around in various states of dishevelment, but their faces lit up when he came in to view. Jin pulled out a chair for him before sitting down himself in a gentlemanly fashion. Joon just had to pause a moment to take it all in. His life was a dream. Suddenly, all he wanted was to kiss every single one of them until his lips went numb.

Because seriously, could there actually be anyone on earth luckier than he?
