Chapter Text
Eddie Kaspbrak ✔️ @EddieK
vibes or whatever [short video; it’s filmed from Eddie’s perspective as he seems to be sitting in the passenger seat of a car. Panorama by The Cars is playing on the radio in the background; the open road is ahead of him. He slowly pans the camera over to his left revealing Richie in the driver’s seat, one hand on the wheel and calmly bopping his head to the song. He’s too focused on the road to notice that he’s being filmed.
The video ends shortly after that]

“I-I just don’t know how this could’ve happened,” Bill sighed, rubbing his temple. Clearly stressed out at their present predicament, from what Bev could see. She almost felt bad for her clueless friend.
“It’s just a simple mixup, Bill. I’m sure they won’t mind,” She tried to reassure him. Stanley snorted next to her.
“Yeah, something tells me they won’t mind at all.” Bev shot him a look but thankfully his comment seemed to have flown over Bill’s head.
“I specifically told them we needed seven rooms! How could they have mixed it up this bad.” Bill shook his head while looking over the extra hotel keycard he had in his hand.
“Kind of their fault for being late…” Mike coughed out. Next to him, Stanley smirked.
Ben adjusted the strap of his bag over his shoulder. “We could do the buddy system this weekend?” He suggested. Everyone in their circle nodded in agreement, but Bill just frowned
“We’re not thirteen. Plus Eddie would hate that. I mean, you all know how he is.”
“No, Ben’s right.” Bev said, earning a grin from Ben. She smiled back. “I’ll just room with Richie this weekend. No big deal.”
Ben instantly lost his grin. “Oh, are you sure? I mean, it'd probably be wiser to share with Eddie, right?”
“Wait, didn’t we just agree that Eddie should room alone?” Mike asked.
“Kind of, but—”
“Sup, Losers!” Richie’s voice boomed from across the lobby, interrupting Ben. He secretly sighed in relief.
With a large duffel bag hanging off his shoulder and his hand clasped with…Eddie’s, Richie approached the gang. “Long time, no see, huh guys?”
“How-how are you both getting here at the same time?” Bill asked, looking between them. “Did you both carpool here?”
“Good to see you guys finally show up!” Bev grinned at them. Mike chuckled.
“Yeah, our director over here was about to have an aneurysm.” He clapped them both on the shoulder.
“Why?” Eddie asked, glancing at him.
“Yeah, why’s that?” Richie mimicked.
“Why did you two carpool over here?” Bill frowned.
Ben raised an eyebrow. “Carpooling was an option?”
“To save gas,” Richie deadpanned. “Why the fuck else we wouldn’t?” He asked, grabbing the keycard from Bill’s grasp. “Is the room ready?”
“Yeah, about that-”
“The hotel booked us for six rooms, not seven. Do either of you know anything about that?” Stanley asked, with his arms calmly crossed over his chest.
Eddie poked at Richie’s side. “Oh, did you forget to tell them?”
“Oops, sorry. Yeah, I called the hotel a couple of weeks ago to switch rooms.” Richie nodded, looking at all of them. When they all just stared back at him in silence, all with different expressions of surprise and confusion on their faces—Bev just weirdly smiling at him, Richie blinked. Was this news? He didn’t think this was. “Adult sleepovers, amirite?”
“Totally.” Eddie nodded, supporting his poor attempt at a joke.
Awkward silence followed again, so Richie waited a few moments before he decided to stop beating around the bush.
“So, we’re gonna go have sex now.” He said, pointing a thumb over his shoulder.
“Oh my god!” Eddie softly gasped next to him, yanking on his arm.
“What? We have to break in the bed somehow.” Richie argued.
“You didn’t have to tell them though!” Eddie yanked again, backing them away from the group and further down the hallway.
“Oh, come on, Eds. It was kind of obvious with you always hanging all over me,” Richie said back with a grin, happily leading Eddie towards the elevators. Hotel sex was his fucking favorite.
Hell, Eddie being naked with him was his absolute favorite thing in the entire fucking world. So he guessed the setting of said fucking really didn’t matter in the grand scene of things and— fuck.
Oh fucking shit.
The sudden realization made Richie stop in the middle of the hallway. Their conjoined hands pulled Eddie along for the ride as well.
“What?” Eddie muttered. He scrunched his nose up at him but Richie just stared back. A few more seconds went by and then Eddie finally got it. His eyes widened and he covered his mouth with his other hand.
Exxxactly.
Richie started his backtracking then. He glanced over his shoulder at the losers, paying special attention to the color of the walls rather than any of their faces though. “Eddie and I are dating, by the way. That cool?”
“Obviously.” Stanley was the first to speak up.
“Cool.” Not waiting any longer, Richie tugged on Eddie's hand and started down the hallway again.
Once the elevator closed on them, Ben broke the silence. “Wow, who knew, huh?”
Beverly and Stanley shared a look. Mike held in his chuckle by coughing.
“Hold-hold on. Is that why their kissing scene took over two hours to film?” Bill asked them, incredulous.
